Season Ticket Reminder

Carroll ISD's season ticket holders were recently notified of the deadlines to secure their seats for the 2007 football season. Some season ticket holders have three-year personal seat licenses that are expiring. These individuals have until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 to renew their seat license and retain their season tickets by paying the appropriate fees. Others who have an unexpired personal seat license must pay for their season tickets by the April 18 deadline, as well.

Any seats that remain unsold after April 18 will be offered to existing ticket holders on a special "trade day" scheduled for Tuesday, May 1 from 8 a.m. to noon. At that time, existing season ticket holders may improve their seating arrangement for the upcoming season by trading their existing seats for more desirable locations.

All seats that remain after May 1 will go on sale to the general public Tuesday, May 8. The public then has the right to purchase a one-year seat license or a three-year personal seat license. The cost of a one-year license is $50 per seat. The cost of a three-year license is $90 per seat. The actual season ticket is an additional $75 per seat.

Questions about 2007 Season Ticket Sales may be directed to Terri Anderson at 817-949-8270.

Healthcare Professionals Share Expertise With Aspiring Students

More than 50 students and 20 physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals attended an educational breakfast March 28. This event was hosted by Carroll ISD’s Carroll Medical Academy (CMA).

Local medical professionals were invited to speak with high school students about careers in the healthcare profession.

This is the third year CMA has hosted a physician breakfast, and Carroll students have expressed it as being beneficial in their decision-making process.

The Carroll Medical Academy is a magnet program through the Carroll school district where students who are interested in pursuing a career in a medical field are offered intensive math and science courses. This program is offered for grades 9 through 12 at Carroll Senior High School.

Dawson Symphony Band In Tune With Victory

The Dawson Middle School Wind Symphony performed at the Region 24 University Interscholastic League's (UIL) Concert and Sightreading competition April 4. The 76-member ensemble went to Wakeland High School in Frisco and performed three prepared pieces for a select panel of judges.

The very difficult program of Under the Double Eagle, Shenandoah and Havendance was well received by the panel. Each of the judges awarded the group superior ratings (straight ones) and gave compliments on the performance. After the stage portion, the band sightread a new piece of music. The group performed again to a superior level with all three judges giving straight ones.

With those two stellar performances, the band received the coveted Sweepstakes award, making it the fifth year in row for the DMS Symphony. Congratulations Dragons!
