Trustees Approve New High School Schedule Carroll students in grades 9-12 currently operate on a modified block schedule that consists of one 50-minute period each day and three alternating 90-minute periods for a total of seven classes per semester. The new schedule is an A/B block that offers freshman and sophomore students a total of eight classes per semester - four, alternating 90-minute periods. Juniors and seniors will take seven of eight 90-minute classes each semester. The majority of athletics and some fine arts courses will be double-blocked, meaning a student will attend those classes each day. Students who have double-blocked courses will continue to have a choice of seven courses per semester. The new schedule will cost approximately $525,000 and requires up to 10 additional staff members. Their stormy relationship comes to a head when the workers strike for a 7 1/2 cent pay increase, setting off not only a conflict between management and labor, but a battle of the sexes as well. Bright and brassy, this unconventional, fast-paced Broadway favorite is brimming with songs and dances which have become popular and musical theatre standards, and features plenty of splashy, fun production numbers.
